Schleich 16416 Pteranodon.
The Pteranodon was one of the largest pterosaurs in the Cretaceous period. The striking bony crest on the rear of its head provided a counterweight to its long beak. It probably didn’t flap its wings very often, but instead took advantage of the wind to glide through the air – similar to an albatross.
Introduced: 2001. Retired: 2007.
